Video can be a powerful way for you to get your message across to potential new customers. And, when you consider that on sites like Youtube over 4 Billion hours of video are watched each month and 100 Million people take Social action (likes, shares) each week, it’s easy to see why adding video as part of your content marketing strategy is important. Hi there! Dave Forster with Adster Creative and in this video we are going to talk about the role of video in content marketing. Obviously, Google says, “Content is king!” Adster says, “Content is king!” I say, “Content is king!” Andrew says, “Content is king!” Everybody is saying, “Content is king!” However, if you are a plumber in Red Deer, what the heck is good content supposed to look like? Well, what I would suggest to you is video. Video is a great way to provide your site visitors with valuable website content. And video serves a whole bunch of purposes – much more than meets the eye.

In a perfect world, Google as always, wants to rank the most trusted and resource intensive websites at the top of their search results. And by adding video to your website, you are sending a signal to Google that you are, in fact, a valuable and trusted resource in whatever your particular niche or vertical might be. So, adding video to your website can be a great way to increase your search engine rankings.

Another thing that video can do is help you in making a fantastic first impression. In terms of making a good first impression, when somebody comes to your website for the first time, they are obviously, most times, meeting you for the first time. And while having a professional looking website and great content and a solid proposition and a clear called action are extremely important, a lot of times, when people are in the research phase of buying, they’re really trying to get an idea of what company they’re dealing with. They want to get to know the people behind the brand. So, in creating video, you can let people know a little bit more about who you are, how you are, and whether or not it’s going to be a good match and good relationship for the prospect. So, videos can serve a very important function in that regard.

Finally, video can help increase your conversion rate. Obviously, ranking your website is very important, getting people on your website checking you out is very important, but of course, it all comes down to converting these prospects into customers.
